ABOUT THE SKYHAWKS
Â
UT Martin is 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in Ohio Valley Conference Play. They have yet to play a home game this season. Senior Chelsea Perry leads the way for UTM with 27.0 points and 8.0 rebounds, while shooting 53 percent from the floor. The Skyhawks entered the 2020-21 season as the OVC favorites, ranked 10th in the Mid-Major Top 25 preseason poll, while receiving votes in the Preseason USA TODAY Coaches' Poll for the first time in program history. The Skyhawks return 13 players off a squad which posted a 22-10 overall record last season while cruising to a 16-2 mark in league play to garner the program's sixth regular season championship. Perry and fellow senior Maddie Waldrop each followed up All-OVC first team honors last season with similar preseason nods. The pair combined to score 35.8 points per game last season while averaging over 7.8 rebounds per game and tallying 108 blocks.
Â
Series History - UofL is 10-0 all-time against UT Martin. This marks the 11th time in the past 11 years that the two teams have met. The only season during that stretch where they didn't meet was 2013-14. The Cardinals are 7-0 all-time in Louisville. The Cardinals have won the 10 games by an average margin of 25.6 points, but last year it took double overtime to pull out 71-63 victory in Martin. That is the smallest margin of victory for Louisville in the series.
Â
The Last Meeting (Dec. 6, 2020) -  Dana Evans scored 26 points to lead the No. 5 Cardinals to an 85-67 victory over UT Martin. After shooting 60.5% and scoring a record number of points in Friday's 116-75 win over No. 20 DePaul, the Cardinals (4-0) struggled early on. They made just five of their first 21 shots. However, they used an 18-3 run over the final 6:58 of the first half to take a 40-27 halftime lead and break away from a solid Skyhawks team playing its first game of the season.
