The University of Louisville softball team was picked to finish seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference released its preseason coaches poll released today.

Florida State was selected as the 2021 ACC preseason favorite in a vote of the league's 13 head coaches. Virginia Tech finished second in the poll with 136 points and four first-place votes, while Notre Dame was picked third with 114 points.
Â
The Cardinals finished the COVID-shortened 2020 season with a 10-13 overall record on the eve of their ACC-opening series against Boston College. Louisville's early season slate featured 10 games against teams in the top 25 and the Cardinals were on a three-game winning streak at the end of the season.

Cassady Greenwood led the team with a .386 batting average, followed by her sister, Carmyn at .373. Jordyn Wolfe rounded out the Cardinals' top three hitters with a .324 batting average. Taylor Roby led the team with seven home runs and 16 RBI, while Celene Funke was 13-for-13 in stolen bases with 12 runs.
