Newcomer Spotlight: Makayla Hurst

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team is set to open its 2021 campaign in February. Throughout the month of January, we will meet each of the Cardinals' seven newcomers. Makayla Hurst, a junior transfer from the University of Utah will kick off the series.

Major: Early Childhood Education

Winning the Junior Olympic Cup Nationals with my travel team.

Track and Field

What do you want to do after college?
I want to go to medical school and eventually get into Pediatric Oncology.

When my travel ball coach, John said that I am one of the most selfless players he has ever coached.

Spend time with my family and watch movies.

Two meniscus tears and surgeries within eight months.
