Nwora Honored on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville forward Jordan Nwora has been named to the NCAA District 2 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with honorees announced in mid-March.
Nwora has a 3.40 overall GPA in exercise science at UofL. The preseason ACC Player of the Year and a candidate for national player of the year honors, Nwora is second in the ACC in scoring (18.2 ppg), fifth in free throw percentage (.815), seventh in field goal percentage (.456), and ninth in rebounding (7.3 rpg). Â
A 6-8 junior from Buffalo, N.Y., Nwora has scored at least 14 points in 21 games this season, including 13 games scoring 20 or more points. He has led Louisville in scoring in 20 of 27 games, including a career-high 37 points at Boston College on Jan. 29 when he buried seven three-pointers in the game.

Nwora became the Cardinals' 69th career 1,000-point scorer against Florida State on Jan. 4 and is the 39th player to score 1,000 points in his first three seasons at Louisville. His 1,227 points currently ranks 37th in career scoring at UofL.
NCAA District 2 is made up of qualifying basketball players in Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Â The District 2 CoSIDA Academic All-District team includes the following individuals:
