
Nwora On Midseason Watch List for Oscar Robertson Trophy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville forward Jordan Nwora is among 12 players included on the midseason watch list for the 2020 Oscar Robertson Trophy, presented to the national player of the year award by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Joining Nwora on the elite list Udoka Azubuike, Kansas; Vernon Carey Jr., Duke; Devon Dotson, Kansas; Malachi Flynn, San Diego State; Luka Garza, Iowa; Markus Howard, Marquette; Filip Petrusev, Gonzaga; Myles Powell, Seton Hall; Payton Pritchard, Oregon; Obi Toppin, Dayton; and Cassius Winston, Michigan State.
Nwora leads the ACC in scoring (18.8 ppg) and three-point field goal percentage (.429), and is fifth in free throw percentage (.818), seventh in field goal percentage (.458), and 11th in rebounding (7.2 rpg). His 469 points scored in his first 24 games this season is tied for the second-most scored by any Louisville player in the last 20 years.
A 6-8 junior from Buffalo, N.Y., Nwora has scored at least 14 points in 20 of 25 games this season, including 13 games scoring 20 or more points. He has led Louisville in scoring 19 of 25 games, including a career-high 37 points at Boston College on Jan. 29 when he buried seven three-pointers in the game.
Nwora became the Cardinals' 69th career 1,000-point scorer against Florida State on Jan. 4 and is the 39th player to score 1,000 points in his first three seasons at Louisville. His 1,203 points currently ranks 41st in career scoring at UofL.
Nwora and Louisville (21-4, 12-2 ACC), ranked No. 5 by AP and USA Today and leading the ACC, is back in action at Clemson on Saturday at 4 p.m. (ACC Network).
