
Morton Named to Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2021 Silver Anniversary Team

Jill Morton played for the Cardinals from 1996-2000 and is the program's 12th leading scorer.
NEW CASTLE, Ind. - Former University of Louisville women's basketball standout Jill Morton is one of 18 women named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2021 Silver Anniversary Team, based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.
Morton had an All-American career at Louisville, scoring 1,402 career points, which ranks 12th all-time in program history. The sharp shooter finished her career shooting 44.5 percent from beyond the arc, which remains the best mark in program history. As a senior, she led the nation shooting an impressive 53.5 percent from deep. Her 201 made 3-pointers in her career rank seventh all-time in program history.
She played in 112 games and helped lead the Cardinals to three 20-plus win seasons, three trips to the NCAA Tournament and a Conference USA regular season championship in 1999.
Morton became the Cardinals' first women's basketball All-American in 2000, earning first team honors by the Women's Basketball News Service her senior year. She was Louisville's first WNBA draft pick, going to the Charlotte Sting with the 34th pick of the 2000 WNBA Draft.
In 2011, she was inducted into the University of Louisville Athletics Hall of Fame.
