LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals opened up ACC play with a 2-1 victory over Notre Dame last Saturday at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Elijah Amo scored the opening goal for Louisville in his first appearance of the season and Pedro Fonseca's penalty kick goal in the 51st minute proved to be the game-winner.
SERIES HISTORY
The series between Louisville and Virginia dates back to only 2013 with the Cardinals holding a 3-2-1 record all-time against the Cavaliers. Louisville won the first meeting between the two in Charlottesville in 2013, but has lost in the last two matches there.
LAST MEETING
Virginia got on the board just 61 seconds into the match and it was all the Cavaliers would need as they blanked UofL 2-0 last October in Charlottesville. The Cardinals outshot UVA 7-4 in the second half but were unable to find the net in a physical match that featured seven cards.
