Cardinals Open ACC Play Saturday with Notre Dame

Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Atlantic Coast Conference play begins on Saturday for the University of Louisville men's soccer team as it plays host to Notre Dame. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals took a 3-1 loss at in-state rival Kentucky on Monday night in Lexington. After trailing 1-0 at the half, Bryce LeBel headed home a corner kick from Haji Abdikadir 10 minutes into the second half to tie the match at one. However, Kentucky went back in front in the 62nd minute and later added a penalty kick tally for the final margin.
SERIES HISTORY
The series between Louisville and Notre Dame dates back to 1981 with the Irish holding a 12-7-1 advantage. Notre Dame won nine of the first 11 meetings, but the Cardinals are 6-3-0 in the series since 2010.
LAST MEETING
The last meeting between the two came in the quarterfinal round of the 2018 ACC Championship in Louisville. Tate Schmitt broke a scoreless contest with a header in the 86th minute that proved to be the deciding goal in a 1-0 victory.The victory was the start of Louisville's run to capturing the 2018 ACC Championship.
