ATLANTA, Ga. – The Atlanta Tipoff Club announced today that Louisville women's basketball senior forward Kylee Shook is one of 15 players named to the 2020 Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year Midseason Team.
She is the only player from the Atlantic Coast Conference named to the list.
Shook has 180 career blocked shots and recorded six blocks at UT Martin on Dec. 19, 2019 to pass Angel McCoughtry and become UofL's all-time leader in the category.
The senior from Colorado Springs, Colo., is averaging 2.3 blocks per game, which leads the ACC and ranks 27th in the country. She has 43 blocks this season and is just 16 blocks away from tying Yuliya Tokova's single-season record with 59 blocks in 2006-07.
She is nearly averaging a double-double with 9.0 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game. Her 7.6 rebounds per game rank 11th in the ACC.
