Cardinals Set for Three Matches This Weekend

Louisville, Ky: The University of Louisville women's tennis team will travel to face Ball State at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24. They will then return home to the Bass Rudd Tennis Center for a double header against Southeast Missouri State at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26.

About Louisville women's tennis:
The Cardinals are coming off of a doubleheader sweep against North Alabama last Friday, Jan.17. Louisville is off to a 2-0 start to their 2020 season. The women's team impressed against North Alabama, where the Cards did not lose a single set over the course of the doubleheader.

The Opponent
Ball State is coming off winning their first match of the season sweeping IUPUI. Ball State finished with a 16-6 record in 2019 before losing in the Mid-American Conference semifinals. The Cardinals are projected to finish 3rd in the preseason MAC poll. Senior Rebecca Herrington is looking to have a strong 2020 season following last season where she posted an impressive 17-2 singles record. She also posted a perfect 7-0 record in MAC competition.

This will be Southeast Missouri State's first match of the spring season. They are currently predicted to finish 4th in the preseason Ohio Valley Conference poll. The Redhawks finished last season with a 12-10 record while also making the semifinals of the OVC tournament. Sophomore Romana Tarajova and senior Kseniya Zonova were both named to the 2020 OVC Preseason Top 10.
