
Three Golfers Named All-American Scholars

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's golfers John Murphy, Devin Morley and Simon Zach were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Thursday.
A total of 269 Division I student-athletes were dubbed All-America Scholars. To be eligible, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his university.
Murphy, who finished with a solid 71.73 stroke average, was named the team's most improved player. The Dracy LeFort, France native placed in a tie for 12th at the Louisville Regional by shooting a 2-under-par. He closed the year with a single top-five finish and four in the top 10.
Morley appeared in 14 events, posting a 72.68 stroke average, while securing two top-five finishes and two in the top 10. The native of Galway, Ireland, recorded a career-best second-place finish at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate.
The lone senior, Zach finished with a 73.00 and led the team with a pair of wins.
