Cardinals USTFCCCA Academic Honors for the 2018-19 Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --Â The University of Louisville track and field teams as well as multiple individuals earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors on Monday.
The women's team was tabbed a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the 15th straight year after recording a 3.38 cumulative grade-point average. The men's team was also tabbed a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the second straight year after recording a 3.09 cumulative grade-point average.Â
The Cardinals were among 362 NCAA Division I teams honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA. Breaking it down further, 227 of those were women's teams compared to 139 men's programs.
Individually, the women placed eight student-athletes and the men place two student-athletes on their respective men's and women's USTFCCCA All-Academic teams.
Alexis Gibbons, Holly Hankenson, Sydney Hill, Halee Hudson, Gabriela Leon, Makenli Forrest, Dorcas Wasike and Morgan Zacharias represented the Cardinals among the 902 women earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2018-19 track & field season.
Marcus Jegede and Luke Nichols represented the Cardinals among the 583 men earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2018-19 track & field season.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).Â
