The Cardinals shot a 2-under-par 286 in the opening round.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team is tied for 10th place after two rounds of play at the 2019 ACC Men's Golf Championships held at the Old North State Golf Club in New London, N.C.
Originally scheduled to play one round on Thursday, the teams played 36 holes due to severe weather hitting the area on Friday and postponing play for the day.The final round will resume on Saturday morning.
The Cardinals shot a 2-under-par 286 in the first round and were one of eight teams in the field to shoot under par in the opening round. However, the second round wasn't as kind as the Cardinals fired a 5-over-par 293 to with a 579. Georgia Tech fired a 26-under-par to hold a 10-shot lead over second place Duke and Florida State
 The Cardinals raced out to a fast start on Thursday morning, carding four birdies and an eagle in the first seven holes. Sophomore Matthias Schmid, who opened the first round with a 3-under-par 69, recorded an eagle on the first hole. He paced the Cardinals in the first round with a 69, but struggled with a 7-over-par 79 to sit in 51st place after two rounds.
Jiri Zuska is the top player for the Cardinals after ending the day in a tie for 28th after firing a 1-over-par 145. He opened play with a 71 in the morning, but followed with a 2-over-par 74 in the second round of action.
The Cardinals have three players tied for 43rd in Schmid, John Murphy and Trevor Johnson, who all shot a 5-over-par 147. Besides Schmid's first round 69, Johnson shot a 70 in the second round and Murphy fired a 71.
Devin Morley rounded out the top five by sitting in 47th after his two-round total of 148.
