Mack a Candidate for Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's basketball coach Chris Mack is one of 15 candidates for the Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
In his first season at Louisville, Mack has guided the Cardinals, ranked 24th in the USA Today poll, to an 18-10 record while facing the nation's third-toughest schedule. Picked to finish 11th in the ACC, UofL has achieved a 9-6 conference record with three games remaining in the regular season. The Cardinals have beaten four Associated Press Top 25 teams this year and stand at No. 21 in the nation in the NCAA's NET rankings. Louisville ranks among the nation's top 30 teams in both offensive and defensive efficiency.
Mack has built for the future as well, with Louisville's 2019 signing class ranked second in the nation by ESPN.com and fifth by both Rivals.com and 247sports.com.
Besides Mack, the candidates include coaches for the three top teams in the ACC standings in Tony Bennett, Virginia; Mike Krzyzewski, Duke; and Roy Williams, North Carolina.
The remaining candidates are Rick Barnes, Tennessee; Chris Beard, Texas Tech; John Beilein, Michigan; Mark Few, Gonzaga; Tom Izzo, Michigan State; Eric Musselman, Nevada; Nate Oats, Buffalo; Matt Painter, Purdue; Kelvin Sampson, Houston; Steve Wojciechowski, Marquette; and Mike Young, Wofford.
