
Cardinals Host Northern Kentucky and Xavier on Thursday

Louisville will play NKU at 12 p.m., followed by Xavier at 6 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Looking to build on the momentum from three straight victories, the No. 44 University of Louisville men's tennis team welcomes Northern Kentucky and Xavier to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center for a doubleheader on Thursday. The Cardinals will play NKU at 12 p.m., followed by Xavier at 6 p.m.
"This will be our fourth and fifth match of a seven day period, so it will be a physical challenge but these guys are up to it. They love game days," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "I know that every singles players is eager to play. Xavier did well in our fall Louisville Invitational Tournament, so they will arrive here with confidence. We will prepare earnestly for both of them."

The Cardinals (9-3, 1-1 ACC) are coming off a successful weekend, where they downed ACC opponent Boston College 5-2 on Friday, followed by a 4-1 win over Purdue and a 7-0 sweep of Austin Peay on Sunday.
Sergio Hernandez Ramirez and Federico Gomez were both undefeated in singles on the weekend. In doubles, Brandon Lancaster and George Hedley were also undefeated with a perfect 3-0 record through the weekend stretch.
Hernandez Ramirez holds the Cards' top dual match singles record at 9-1 from No. 4 and No. 5. Gomez also has just one loss in dual match action with a record of 8-1 from Nos. 3-5.
In doubles, Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and Fabien Salle are the Cards' top duo with a 5-3 record, including four wins at the one-spot.
Northern Kentucky
Series Record: Louisville leads 6-0.
Last Meeting: March 13, 2016 – The Cardinals won 7-0 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Scouting the Norse: Last time out, Northern Kentucky (1-4) won its first match of the season with a 7-0 sweep over Thomas More. Blaine Carr holds the top singles record for the Norse with a 3-1 mark at No. 4. In doubles, Jorge Rodriguez and Aleksander Sadal are 3-2 at the one-spot.
Xavier
Series Record: Louisville leads 19-0.
Last Meeting: April 2, 2017 – Louisville won 6-1 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Scouting the Musketeers: Xavier (1-7) has dropped its last six matches, but four have been decided by just one point. Last weekend, the Musketeers fell to Bryant 5-2 and Richmond 4-3 at home. In doubles, Matthew Graft and Connor LaFavre hold the top record with a 5-3 mark at No. 2. Graft and Brett Winters have each posted four wins apiece in singles.
