Louisville picks up its fourth straight win
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team defeated Northern Kentucky 7-0 in the first match of a doubleheader Thursday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. With the victory, the Cards (10-3) extend their win streak to four matches.
The Cards jumped to an early lead with doubles wins on courts one and two. The senior duo of Brandon Lancaster and George Hedley defeated Aleksander Sadal and Jorge Agudo 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. Junior Fredrik Moe and freshman Marcus Sulen clinched the point with a 6-3 win over Anthony Bosch and Felipe Hidalgo at No. 2.
In singles action, freshman Juan Manuel Paredes beat Felipe Hidalgo 6-2, 6-0 to put the Cards up 6-2, 6-0 at the five-spot. Senior Federico Gomez quickly followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Agudo at No. 3. The match was decided on court four where freshman Sergio Hernandez Ramirez defeated Blaine Carr 6-3, 6-2. Sulen's 6-2, 6-4 win over Chris Murray No. 6 gave Louisville a 5-0 lead. Moments later, Lancaster topped Sadal 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 spot. Freshman Fabien Salle wrapped up the match on court two with a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5).
