
No. 3 Louisville Plays at Clemson on Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a 78-69 win over No. 2 Connecticut in front of 17,000-plus fans on Thursday night, No. 3 Louisville women's basketball (20-1, 7-1) quickly returns to action when they travel to play at Clemson (14-7, 5-3) on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The win over UConn ended a 17-game losing streak to the Huskies and marked the first win over the Huskies since a 74-71 victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on March 17, 1993 in Iowa City, Iowa. It also marked head coach Jeff Walz's first win over UConn (1-14).

The win also marked the 20th of the season for the Cardinals. UofL has 11 20-win season in the last 12 years, all under Walz. Walz's 11 20-win seasons mark the most in program history. In the nine-year stretch that begins with the 2010-11 season, Louisville has compiled a 245-64 mark (.793). UofL has won at least 20 games nine consecutive seasons, the longest stretch in program history. The longest run previously was three, achieved just twice in school history.

Dana Evans finished with 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and zero turnovers, while knocking down a career-high five 3-pointers (5-10), in the win over UConn.

After starting the first two games, she has come off the bench in 17 of the last 19. She is second on the team with 10.3 points and is averaging a team-high 3.8 assists, which ranks 10th in ACC. She is 23-56 (.411) from deep, which ranks eighth in the league. She has 79 assists and 39 turnovers and ranks third in ACC with 2.0 assist-to-TO ratio.

Louisville matched a season-low with five turnovers vs. UConn, they also had five turnovers vs. NKU. Louisville (5) and UConn (6) combined for just 11 turnovers.
