
No. 8 Louisville Hosts Chattanooga on Thursday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's basketball plays the fourth of five straight games at home to open the year when they host Chattanooga on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Following a 3-0 start, the Cardinals moved up to No. 8 in the Associated Press poll.

Kylee Shook recorded five blocks against Central Michigan last Thursday, giving her 145 for her Louisville career, passing Audrey Baines (144, 1976-80) for second in program history. She needs 17 blocks to tie Angel McCoughtry (2006-09) for first all-time with 162.

In addition to becoming the program's second leading shot blocker of all-time, Shook already has two double-doubles on the year and is nearly averaging a double-double on the season with 10.0 points per game and 9.3 rebounds. Her 9.3 rebounds per game rank fifth in the ACC, while her 2.7 blocks per game lead the league.

Jazmine Jones (25 points) and Dana Evans (24 points) both had career-highs in the win over Central Michigan. It marked the first time that Louisville has had two 20-point scorers in a game since Asia Durr (34 points) and Sam Fuehring (21 points) did so last year at Virginia Tech.

Evans' previous career-high was 21 vs. NKU on Dec. 15, 2018, while Jones' previous career-high was 17, which she had done four times, most recently vs. Notre Dame in ACC Final on March 10, 2019.

Jones is 16-of-19 (.842) from the floor in the last two games. She was a perfect 6-of-6 against Murray State en route to scoring a team-high 14 points. She followed that by shooting 10-of-13 for a team-high and career-high 25 points against Central Michigan.

Overall, she is 20-of-27 (.741) this season, which leads the ACC and ranks fifth in the country. She leads the team with 4.7 assists (8th in ACC) and 3.3 steals per game (1st in ACC, 30th in NCAA), and ranks second with 15.7 points per game (13th in ACC) and ranks third with 7.0 rebounds (18th in ACC).

Chattanooga enters Thursday's contest with a 1-4 record after falling 72-53 at Cincinnati on Tuesday night. They are on a two-game losing streak, also falling 66-34 to Purdue. Their lone victory is a 71-54 win at Liberty on Nov. 11. Senior guard Lakelyn Bouldin (12.8 ppg) and sophomore forward Abbey Cornelius (12.2 ppg) are the lone Mocs scoring double figures.
