TEAM NOTES
- The Cardinals improved to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the ACC.
- The Cardinals are 7-3 all-time against the Wolfpack after tonight's win.
- With the win, the Cardinals became bowl eligible for the first time since 2017 and for the 18th time in the last 22 seasons.
- The Cardinals forced two or more turnovers for the sixth time this season and three for the second time (Wake Forest).
- With the 75-yard touchdown pass in the game, the Cardinals have five plays of 70 or more yards this season. It was also the 10th touchdown of 50 or more yards, with Tutu Atwell recording five of them.
- Passing on third down, Louisville was 7-for-9 for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Cardinals averaged 23.9 yards per completion on third down. Louisville was also 1-for-1 for a 7-yard score on fourth down.
- The Cardinals' defense held the Wolfpack to just 30 yards in the third quarter.
- Trailing 10-7 at the half, the Cardinals outscored the Wolfpack 20-0 in the third quarter – the highest third quarter and the third-highest overall scoring this season.
Offensive PLAYER NOTES
- Adonis Boone made his first career start at offensive tackle, replacing Mekhi Becton.
- Offensive tackle Mekhi Becton missed the game due to injury – the first game he hasn't started since 2017 regular-season finale against Kentucky on Nov. 25, 2017.
- Hassan Hall made his first start of the season at running back.
- Running back Javian Hawkins surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season, becoming only the second freshmen to reach that plateau in school history. Victor Anderson was the only other rookie to reach that mark when he totaled 1,047 yards in 2008.
- Hawkins finished the game with 67 yards on 16 carries to up his season total to (1,045) yards.
- Hawkins became the first running back since Bilal Powell ran for 1,405 yards in 2010. Lamar Jackson was the last player to reach 1,000 rushing yards in a season when he recorded 1,601 yards in 2017.
- Quarterback Micale Cunningham tossed a career-high four touchdown passes to give him 14 on the season. He became the first quarterback to throw four touchdown passes in a game since Lamar Jackson threw for four against Boston College in 2016.
- Micale Cunninhgam's fifth 70-yard passing play moved him into the national lead for passes of 70 or more yards.
- Wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick scored on a 43-yard pass for his sixth touchdown reception and 18 of his career, which ties him with Deion Branch for sixth all-time in school history.
- Wide receiver Tutu Atwell recorded his fifth 100-yard receiving game this season and sixth of his career with 110 yards on five catches. The five 100-yard receiving games is tied for sixth in school history for a season and the six in a career moved him into a tie for 10th place all time.
- Atwell's 75-yard touchdown reception this season tying him for the national lead. It was also his fifth touchdown of 50 or more yards this year.
- Tight end Ean Pfeifer's two receptions this season have both resulted in red-zone touchdown catches.
- Kicker Ryan Chalifoux threw a touchdown pass to tight end Marshon Ford in the third quarter. It was the first touchdown pass by a non-quarterback since Reggie Bonnafon threw one as a running back against Virginia on Nov. 14, 2015.
- Chalifoux is the first Louisville kicker or punter to throw a touchdown since records were available in 1951.
- Tight end Marshon Ford equaled his career high with two touchdown receptions, also scoring twice versus Eastern Kentucky.
Defensive PLAYER NOTES
- Safety Russ Yeast forced the game's first turnover when he forced his first career fumble which was recovered by G.G. Robinson, also his first recovery. Yeast forced a second fumble later in the contest that was recovered by Tabarius Peterson, his first career recovery.
- Linebacker Dorian Etheridge registered his first career interception in the second quarter. He finished the game with a season-best 11 tackles.
