- Boston College won toss and elected to receive.
- Louisville defeated Boston College 41-39.
- The 42-point win is the largest margin of victory in the series for the Cardinals since a 52-0 win on Oct. 17, 1930. The teams have met 28 times since then.
- UofL now leads the all-time series 7-5.
- The Cards are now 4-2 all-time at home against BC.
- The Cardinals are now 5-8 all-time on October 5.
- The Cards played on Oct. 5 for the third straight year.
- UofL is now 207-186-5 all-time in the month of October.
- The Cardinals ended a nine-game ACC losing streak.
- It's the first ACC win for the Cards since defeating Syracuse Nov. 18, 2017.
- Louisville returns to action next Saturday, as it travels to No. 22/20 Wake Forest.
TEAM NOTES
- Head coach Scott Satterfield earned his first ACC win as the head coach of the Cardinals.
- Satterfield's career record as a head coach is now 54-26.
- Louisville opened the game with a 6-play, 80-yard drive, capped by a three-yard run from Micale Cunningham. It was the third time this season the Cardinals scored on the opening drive.
- Louisville scored 28 points in the first half, it's the most points in the first half against an ACC opponent since scoring 35 against Syracuse on Nov. 18, 2017.
- Louisville's 412 yards of total offensive in the first half is its most in a first half since it had 450 yards in the first half of a 56-10 win vs. Syracuse on Nov. 18, 2017.
- UofL's 664 yards of total offense in the game are the most since gaining 727 yards versus Syracuse in 2017.
- Anthony Johnson recorded Louisville's first interception of the year in the fourth quarter.
- Opponents had thrown 142 passes without an interception.
- Louisville's 428 yards passing is its highest total since the Cards passed for 431 yards at Syracuse on Sept. 9, 2016. It's the 14th highest total in school history.
- It was the first time the Cardinals had multiple 100-yard passers in a game since Lamar Jackson and Jawon Pass on Sept. 30, 2017 against Murray State.
- The 13-play, 96-yard touchdown drive with 14:00 minutes left in the fourth quarter was the longest of the season for the Cardinals.
- It was the first time in school history, Louisville has six players with 100 yards rushing, receiving, or passing.
- Micale Cunningham, 288 passing; Javian Hawkins - 172 rushing; Seth Dawkins - 170 receiving; Evan Conley - 140 passing; Chatarius Atwell - 110 receiving; Dez Fitzpatrick - 108 receiving.
- Louisville had three 100-yard receivers (Dawkins, Fitzpatrick, Atwell) for the third time in program history. The most recent was Sept. 6, 2007, vs. Middle Tennessee.
- It was the first time UofL had two 100-yard receivers in a game since the 2017 Boston College game.
- It was only the second time Louisville had three 100-yard receivers and a 100-yard rusher in a game.
- Louisville has a 100-yard rusher (Hawkins) and 100-yard receiver in a game for the first time since Lamar Jackson and Jaylen Smith vs. Mississippi State on Dec. 30, 2017.
- The eight third-down conversions by the Cardinals are the most this season and the most since converting 10 against Wake Forest (10/27/2018).
PLAYER NOTES
- Micale Cunningham threw for 288 passing yards which is a career-high.
- Cunningham's 3-yard touchdown run on UofL's first drive of the game moved him into a tie for sixth place for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with eight.
- Evan Conley threw for a career-high 140 yards.
- Javian Hawkins is the third freshman in Louisville history to have three 100-yard rushing games in the first five games of a season. He joins Victor Anderson (2008) and Lamar Jackson (2015).
- He is the first running back with three 100-yard games in a season since Brandon Radcliff in 2016.
- Hawkins ran the ball for a career-high 177 yards on a career-high 25 attempts.
- Seth Dawkins had a career-high 170 yards receiving and a career-high six catches.
- Chatarius Atwell tied a career-high with eight receptions.
- It was the first multi-FG game for Blanton Creque since making two against WKU on Sept. 15, 2018.
- He ranks third all-time in program history with 48 career field goals.
- Anthony Johnson recorded his first interception of the season and the second of his career.
- Khane Pass tied a career-high with 12 total tackles, 10 of which were solo tackles.
- Russ Yeast made a career-high 11 total tackles, including eight solo.
- Yasir Abdullah made a career-high five tackles and a career-high two tackles for loss.
