Cardinals Set for Live in the Lou Cross Country Classic

Louisville will race on their home course this week
Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville's men's and women's cross country teams will run their second race of the season on Saturday, Oct. 5 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park at the Live in the Lou Cross Country Classic. The men's race will kick off the event at 9:30 a.m. while the women's race is scheduled for 10:15 a.m.

The men's field includes: Appalachian State, Bellarmine, Bowling Green, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Davidson, DePaul, East Tennessee State, Eastern Illinois, Ferris State, Florida Gulf Coast, Goshen, Indiana Wesleyan, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Marquette, Marshall, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Montreat, Morehead State, Northwood (Mich.), Ohio, Roberts Wesleyan, Samford, Shawnee State, Southwest Baptist, St. Bonaventure, Stetson, Trinity, UNC Asheville, UNC Greensboro, UT Chattanooga, Vanderbilt, Wayne St. (Mich.), West Florida, West Texas A&M, and Xavier (Ohio).

About the Cardinals

The women's team is coming off an 11th place finish at the Commodore Classic on Sept. 14th. The Cardinals came in with three finishers in the top 30. Sophomore Ivine Chemutai finished ninth overall with a time of 21:30.1, junior Bailey Beery finished 28th overall with a time of 22:09.9, while junior Kassidy Manning finished in 30th overall with a time of 22:12.5.

The men's team is coming off a third place overall finish at the Commodore Classic, with three runners finishing in the top 10. Sophomore Emmanuel Cheboson finished fourth overall with a time of 24:27.4, freshman Issac Kiprop finished seventh overall with a time of 24:36.1, and junior Albert Kosgei finished in 8th place overall with a time of 24:38.8.
