The 16th annual Cardinal Cup will be played at the University of Louisville Golf Club
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's golf team concludes its fall season when the team hosts the 16th annual Cardinal Cup at the University of Louisville Golf Club October 18-20. Admission is free throughout the weekend for spectators.

The host Cardinals will be joined by: Ball State, Campbell (RV), Chattanooga, East Carolina (RV), Eastern Kentucky, Kansas, Kentucky (RV), Mercer, Minnesota, Middle Tennessee State, Murray State, Richmond, South Dakota, No. 24 Washington, Western Kentucky, and Wisconsin

THE COURSE
The University of Louisville Golf Club is the home of the men's and women's golf teams. The beautiful Spencer Holt- designed golf course is complemented by a Cardinal themed golf club. ULGC is a private Golf Club located in Simpsonville, Kentucky, 15 minutes east of Louisville. The par-72, 18-hole Championship Golf Course plays at 7,192 yards and consists of Bentgrass fairways and greens. The Club has played host to numerous events including the 2006 Kentucky State Amateur Championship, the 2007 Men's Big East Golf Championship, and most recently the 2019 NCAA Men's Golf Regional. The Club consists of an 18-hole Championship Golf Course, a 22 acre practice facility, a 12,000 square foot clubhouse, and a junior Olympic swimming pool and pool house. ULGC has been named to the GRAA Top 50 Private Facilities each year since 2013.

Lauren Hartlage, Meghan Nay, Mairead Martin, Hana Ryskova, and Delaney Shah. Margot Bechadergue, Agustina Gomez Cisterna, Lauren Thibodeau, and Linda Trockel will play as individuals.

LAST TIME OUT
The University of Louisville women's golf team finished the Illini Women's Invitational tied for fourth place with a 54-hole score of 2-under-par 862. The Cardinals shot a combined team score of 292 on the final day of the tournament. The team's 54-hole score of 826 ranks seventh all-time in program history. Louisville led the tournament in par-5 scoring with a 4.77 average, finishing at 14-under-par for the week. The team was second in the field with 46 total birdies. The Cards finished tied with Maryland, two strokes back of third place Illinois. UofL defeated five schools who received votes in the most recent coaches' poll, including Oklahoma who finished ahead of the Cardinals less than a week ago at the Schooner Invitational. The team also finished 35 strokes better than ACC rival Notre Dame. Leading Louisville for the tournament was Lauren Hartlage who tied for third overall. She carded a 1-under-par 71 on the final day to finish at 6-under-par 210 for the tournament. Hartlage carded three birdies in the round, all of which came on the front nine.
