October 16, 2019 | Women's Lacrosse
Shanahan will be joined on the roster by former Cardinals Tessa Chad and Kaylin Morissette, while Scott Teeter will serve as head coach.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - It was announced on Wednesday that University of Louisville senior Brenna Shanahan has been named to Canadian Women's Senior Field Lacrosse Team roster that will participate in the Fall Classic this weekend in Baltimore, Md.
She will be joined on the roster by former Cardinal Tessa Chad and former Cardinal and current assistant coach Kaylin Morissette. In addition, Louisville head coach Scott Teeter will lead the Canadian team.
"We are excited to begin our selection process playing against the world champions and the NCAA champions," said Teeter. "Any time that we get to play high caliber teams, it is great for our development and evaluation of current senior national team players, plus recent NCAA graduates and current NCAA players."
Earlier this summer, Teeter, along with Morissette as an assistant, led Canada's U19 team to a second place finish at the 2019 FIL U19 World Championships.
Canada opens the Fall Classic against the United States on Friday at 6 p.m. and then will square off against the University of Maryland on Saturday at 9 a.m. On Sunday, Canada and the U.S. will participate in exhibition games played by the new World Lacrosse trial rules.Â
Lax Sports Net will be streaming all of the games for free.
