Filho Wins 'B' Consolation, Bell Finishes Runner-Up in 'D' Draw

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman James Bell posted a runner-up finish in the 'D' singles draw and senior Clement Filho claimed the 'B' flight consolation on the final day of the Louisville Invitational Tournament Sunday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

"It was good to be able to play at home," said UofL head coach Rodrigo da Silva. "This tournament was good experience for our guys. We got some good wins this weekend and learned that we still have a lot of work to do."

After winning three straight matches to advance to the finals of the 'D' singles draw, Bell dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Middle Tennessee's Sean Presson.

In the 'B' consolation draw, Filho picked up his third consecutive win after falling in the first round on Friday. The senior topped Middle Tennessee's Francisco Rocha 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 in the final round.

The Cardinals will return to action October 23-28 when they compete in the Ohio Valley Regionals.
