TEAM NOTES
- The victory is the first ACC road win for Louisville since winning at Florida State on Oct. 21, 2017.
- It marks Louisville's first win over an undefeated team with at least five wins since winning 28-24 at 6-0 Cincinnati on Oct. 13, 2007.
- Louisville is (17-56-1) all-time versus ranked opponents and (4-33-1) on the road. It was the first win over a ranked foe since a 63-20 win over Florida State in 2016.
- It snapped a 10-game losing streak against ranked opponents, and was the first road win over a ranked for since a 38-35 win at West Virginia in 2011.
- The 62 points are the most ever by the Cardinals on the road against a ranked opponent, and tied for the most on the road against an ACC opponent also done at Syracuse on Sept. 9, 2016.
- The 121 combined points are the most ever in a Louisville game, surpassing the previous record of 111 in a 59-52 double-overtime loss at Army on Oct. 7, 1999 and a 66-45 win vs. Houston on Nov. 22, 2003.
- The Cardinals scored first for the fourth time in six games when Javian Hawkins scored from eight yards out in the first quarter.
- The Cardinals held a 21-7 lead after the first quarter, the fifth time they either led or were tied at the half this season. Louisville trailed in nine games after the first quarter a year ago.
- Louisville led #19 Wake Forest 21-7 at the end of the first quarter was the largest ever versus a ranked team on the road. This is only the fifth time the Cards have led a ranked team on the road entering the second quarter. The previous largest lead after one quarter was 15-7 at Rutgers on Nov. 9, 2006.
- The 31 first-half points were the most against a ranked team since scoring 35 points against Florida State in 2016.
- The Cardinals picked up a season high three turnovers, including a season best two interceptions.
Offensive PLAYER NOTES
- Quarterback Micale Cunningham recorded his third multi-touchdown passing game of his career.
- Over the last two games, wide receiver Seth Dawkins has caught (9) passes for (238) yards and (3) touchdowns. He has scored a touchdown in each of the last two contests.
- Hassan Hall returned his second career kickoff for a touchdown by tying a school record with a 100-yard yard return. It was Hall's second career return for a touchdown, the first since a 93-yard return against Clemson last season.
- Hall is the ninth player in school history with over 1,000 career kickoff return yards.
- Hall is the first Louisville player with a rushing touchdown and kickoff return touchdown in the same game since Walter Peacock did it vs. Furman on Nov. 17, 1973.
- Hall's 220 kickoff returns yards are the second most in school history, only behind the 247 he registered in a loss at Clemson last season.
- It was the ninth 100-yard kickoff return in school history and the first since Traveon Samuel had one versus Clemson in 2015.
- Tutu Atwell recorded a career long 50-yard punt return.
- Keion Wakefield recorded a career high two receptions, including a career long 17-yard pass reception.
- Dez Fitzpatrick caught 15-yard and 50-yard touchdown passes from Evan Conley for his 16th and 17th career receiving touchdowns, tied with Gary Barnidge for the seventh most at Louisville. DeVante Parker and Ibn Green share the school record with 33.
- Fitzpatrick finished with five receptions for 125 yards, his third straight contest with at least 100 yards receiving. He is the first Louisville receiver with three straight 100-yard games since Devante Parker did it against NC State, Florida State and Boston College in 2014.
- Conley finished with a season-high 196 passing yards, completing 12-of-18 attempts.
Defensive PLAYER NOTES
- Rodjay Burns registered his first interception this year and the third of his career.
- Monty Montgomery recorded his second sack and second forced fumble in the first quarter against the Demon Deacons.
- Making his second consecutive start, linebacker Yasir Abdullah recovered his first career fumble and later added his first career interception to stop a scoring drive right before the half.
- Blanton Creque finished the night 2-for-2 on field goals and 8-for-8 on extra points. He now has 303 points for his career, making him the fifth Louisville player to reach 300, joining Art Carmody, John Wallace, Lenny Lyles and Lamar Jackson.
