Lancaster Advances to Second Round of ITA All-American Pre-Qualifying Draw

Brandon Lancaster picks up an opening-round win

Senior Brandon Lancaster led the University of Louisville men's tennis team on the first day of the pre-qualifying draw of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Saturday afternoon in Tulsa, Okla.

Lancaster picked up a win in his opening round, defeating Georgia Tech's Brandon Freestone 7-6, 7-5 to advance to the second round where he fell 6-3, 6-1 to Ohio State's Hunter Tubert.

Senior Federico Gomez fell short against Abilene Christian's Nico Moceanu 7-6, 6-4 in his first round. Fellow senior George Hedley rebounded from a 6-3, first set loss to Wright State's Andrea Caligiana to take the second set 6-2 before losing 6-3 in the third.
