DeLange, Zach Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars

Keegan De Lange and Simon Zach were key contributors to the 2017-18 squad.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's golfers Keegan de Lange and Simon Zach were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Thursday.
A total of 265 Division I student-athletes were dubbed All-America Scholars. To be eligible, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his university.
De Lange, who hails from Pretoria, South Africa, appeared in 12 events last season, posting a 72.39 stroke average. He posted a pair of top-20 finishes, including one in the top 10. The junior posted his best finish of the year by placing eighth at the Louisville Cardinal Challenge.
Zach, a junior from Prague, Czech Republic., has earned honors for the third time in his career, while Schmid, a freshman from Maxhvette, Germany, is a first time honoree.
Finishing third on the team in stroke average, Zach put together a consistent junior season. He was only one of two players on the team to appear in all 13 events and put together three top-10 finishes.
He posted the best round in school history by winning the Warrior Princeville Invitational at 21-under par and set a school record with a round of 195. The marketing major shot a 6-under par to finish third at the Louisville Intercollegiate.
