Men’s Golf Earns GCAA Recognition for Academics

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After two members of the team earned all-Atlantic Coast Academic honors, the University of Louisville men's golf team also was recognized for its outstanding performance in the classroom this year.
Louisville was one of 116 Division I teams to earn the recognition by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Saturday for earning a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The Cardinals joined Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia as the only teams in the ACC to capture academic acknowledgement.
Junior Simon Zach and freshman Matthias Schmid were the two all-league academic honorees for the Cardinals this season.
The Cardinals enjoyed another successful season on the course in 2017-18 by advancing to the NCAA Columbus Regional, the 10th post-season appearance in school history. Louisville finished 11th overall in the regional.
