Weather Delays the First Day of the Crimson Tide Invitational

Kessler and Harris finish with personal best marks
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Due to heavy rain and lightning in the area, Friday's competition at the Crimson Tide Invitational was suspended. Action will resume at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. The only events completed today were the men's and women's hammer throw. The men's competition was declared official after three rounds.

Mitchell Kessler and Spencer Harris finished with personal best marks in the hammer throw on Friday. Kessler finished fourth with a toss of 54.34m/178-03. Harris finished fifth with a throw of 50.38m/165-03.Â

On the women's side, Carsen Cassell finished fourth with a throw of 57.76m/189-06. Freshman Makenli Forrest finished sixth with a toss of 56.17m/184-03.Â

The Cardinals will continue competition on Saturday. The following schedule changes are in effect for tomorrow:

Women's 5,000 Meters: 10 a.m.
Men's 5,000 Meters: 10:30 a.m.
Men's Javelin: Will follow Women's Javelin
Men's and Women's 1,500 Section A: Will run along with B sections beginning at approximately4:10 pm
Men's and Women's 10,000 Meters: Will not be run
