Hartlage Tied for Fifth, Paces Women’s Golf at Evans Derby Experience

Lauren Hartlage shot a 3-under-par 69 in the first round of play.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Hartlage shot a 3-under-par 69 on Sunday, leading the University of Louisville women's golf team in the first round of the Evans Derby Experience in Auburn, Ala.
Hartlage tapped in for birdie five times, including three on the front 9, and is tied for fifth in the 75-player field. The sophomore recorded her third opening round in the 60s this season, her 13th round this season even or below par.
The Cardinals concluded the first round in ninth with a 7-over-par 295. Florida State is leading the 12-team field at the Auburn University Club with a 10-under-par 278.
Jacqueline Twitty, who played as an individual, had a solid performance with a 1-under-par 71. She totaled two birdies, compared to just one bogey, and is tied for 13th. Twitty currently is tied for field lead with 14 pars.
Molly Skapik tallied the second-best score in the Cardinals' lineup, with a 2-over-par 74. The Cardinals' lone senior, who birdied a par-5, 493-yard hole, is tied for 39th.
Kristin Engle and Delaney Shah rounded out the Cardinals' four scorers, with Engle carding a 3-over-par 75 and Shah with a 5-over-par 77.
Margot Bechadergue, Louisville's other individual, is tied for 39th after a 2-over-par 74.
Louisville is paired with Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Michigan for the second round, which starts Monday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
