The University of Louisville women's tennis team was edged 4-3 by Tulsa in a neutral match played on the campus of Middle Tennessee University.

The Cardinals won the doubles point when Abbie Pahz and Mariana Humberg beat Ksenia Lskutova and Martha Matoula 6-4 at No. 1 The Cards pair of Raven Neely and Sena Suswam edged Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner 7-6 (6-0) at No. 2 for the win.

In singles, Mariana Humberg beat Martha Matoula 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 and Maya Smith beat Anastasia Chinikova 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6. But fell in three set matches at both the No. 3. No. 4 and No. 5 spots.

It is the first loss for the Cardinals, who move to 6-1 and Tulsa improves to 6-2.

The Cardinals return to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center to face ACC foe Notre Dame on Feb. 9 and Pitt on Feb. 11.
