Cards earn two three-set wins in tough contest
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In a tough contest, the University of Louisville women's tennis team remained unbeaten at home, besting Furman University, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Following a brisk doubles win, the Cardinals (10-1, 2-0 ACC) were pushed to three sets in two singles matches by the game Paladins (4-5).
"We were able to get through a lot of tight matches and get a good 6-1 win," said head coach Mark Beckham. "This is one we should feel good about. The fact that we got a 6-1 win shows that we're progressing as a team, and we're pretty solid ourselves."
