Cards battle to 4-3 win over
The University of Louisville women's tennis team won the doubles point and then held off a rallying Pitt team for a 4-3 ACC road win Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh.

The Cardinals took the doubles point to start the match out 1-0. At No. 3, Ariana Rodriguez and Aleksandra Mally struck first with a 6-1 win over Gabriela Rezende and Natsumi Okamoto. Sena Suswam and Raven Neely clinched the point for the Cards with a 6-3 win over Callie Frey and Camila Moreno at No. 2. Abbie Pahz and Mariana Humberg made it a sweep with a 6-2 win over Luisa Varon and Claudia Bartolome at the No. 1 spot.

The momentum carried over to singles action as Maya Smith scored the first singles point, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Natsumi Okamoto at No. 6. Mariana Humberg followed suit from the No. 2 slot with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Camila Moreno.

Pitt pushed back, scoring the next three points with three 3-set wins at No. 1 and No. 4 and No. 5.

The match came down to the No. 3 slot.  Lousiville senior Abbie Pahz dropped her first set 6-4 but battled back to win 6-4 in the second and then cruise to a 6-1 win in the third to clinch the match for her team.
