LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team hosts the Cardinal Cup at UofL Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
The 54-hole tournament will consist of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. The University of Louisville Golf Course is a par-72 and 6,303 yards. The 14 teams will tee off at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.
"We are excited to host this week at the ULGC," said head coach Courtney Trimble. "It is always a great privilege to get to play on our home golf course in front of our home fans! We have a great field this week and we're looking forward to a great weekend of competition!"
Louisville's starting lineup will feature Lauren Hartlage, Lauren Thibodeau, Mairead Martin, Olivia Cason, and Delaney Shah. Margot Bechadergue, Meghan Nay and Linda Trockel will compete as individuals.
Thibodeau led the Cardinals at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, shooting a career-low 68 (-4) in the first round. Her 3-over finish tied for 20th in the individual category.
Through three tournaments, Hartlage has averaged a 72.6 per round. She finished the Tar Heel Invitational at six-over for a 34th place finish. Hartlage captured the individual title at last year's Cardinal Cup.
Cason opened the Tar Heel invitational by shooting an even-par 72. She carries a three-over average through three tournaments.
Martin rounded out the top three finishers for the Cardinals in North Carolina, finishing 8-over.
Shah last saw action three weeks ago at the Mason Rudolph Championship, where she shot four-over in her only rounds of the season. This will be Nay and Trockel's first rounds of the 2018 season.
