Junior Clement Filho wins in singles and doubles

The University of Louisville men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins on day two of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship Friday at the University of Tennessee.

Junior Clement Filho accounted for both of the Cardinals victories on the day, teaming with freshman Alex Wesbrooks to beat Lipscomb's Pedro Uribe and Jorge Ortegon 8-7 and posting a 6-1, 6-1 decision against UT Chattanooga's Jacob Marshall in singles.

"Everyone here is showing improvements and they are understanding how they need to play to be the most successful," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "Being coachable is paying off for them. Alex played a fantastic match against one of the top freshmen in the region and I'm very excited about the improvements he has been making. I'm excited for another opportunity tomorrow to play high level doubles and hopefully make more waves in the region."

The tournament will continue Saturday morning.
