LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team continues fall play this weekend as they travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Ohio Valley Regional Championships. The four-day tournament is set to begin on Thursday and will conclude on Monday.
Â
Representing Louisville will be George Hedley, Clement Filho, Alex Wesbrooks and Fredrik Moe. The tournament will feature competitors from 21 programs across Division I, including five teams who qualified for the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Â
""I am excited for George, Clement, Freddy and Alex," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "This is a tournament that is important in the fall season and qualifies for the nationals. We have historically done very well in the tournament. We won the doubles last year and had four of the final 16 singles players."
Â
The tournament will be held across three different sites in Knoxville, including the Goodfriend Tennis Center, the Knoxville Racquet Club and the Barksdale Tennis Stadium and will be comprised of a 128-player singles draw, 64-team doubles draw and a singles consolation draw for players who do not advance from the first round.
