
Softball Plays Host to Kentucky and Western Kentucky in Fall Season Finale Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team will wrap up the fall season Saturday when the Cardinals play host to Kentucky at 12 p.m. and Western Kentucky at 4 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium. Admission is free.

The Cardinals enter their final weekend of fall play with a 4-2 record after splitting doubleheaders against Eastern Kentucky and Indiana and, most recently sweeping Morehead State in a twin bill last weekend.

Entering the weekend, senior Megan Hensley has tallied a team-best 11 RBIs and has belted out two home runs, three doubles and a triple. Junior Caitlin Ferguson leads the team with seven runs while powering a pair of homers, a double and driving in five runs. Freshman Charley Butler is a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases and junior Celene Funke has four stolen bases in five attempts.

All six Louisville pitchers have appeared in the circle with Danielle Watson leading the way with 12 strikeouts in 11.0 innings of work. Hensley follows with seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings.
