
No. 4 Women's Basketball to Face Virginia in Battle for First Place

The Cardinals and Cavaliers will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday night.
The two teams enter the contest in a three-way tie for first place in the ACC, along with Notre Dame.
The Cards are coming off an 89-52 win over Wake Forest on Sunday. Junior Asia Durr led the way with 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting, while sophomore Bionca Dunham, sophomore Jazmine Jones and junior Arica Carter finished in double figures.
Louisville forced 22 turnovers and shot 9-of-18 from 3-point range and 20-of-23 from the free throw line in the win.
With wins in their first nine road games, the Cards are on an 11-game road winning streak dating back to last season. Their last road loss was an 85-66 setback at Notre Dame on Feb. 6, 2017. The longest road winning streak in program history is 13 games from Dec. 18, 2015 to Dec. 21, 2016.
ABOUT THE CAVALIERS
Virginia enters Thursday's matchup with an 8-1 conference record, which marks its best start since opening the 1999-00 season at 9-1 in ACC games. They have wins in 11 of their last 12 games.
Virginia leads the ACC in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense in conference games, limiting opponents to 56.3 points per game and 35.9 percent shooting efficiency. They are shooting 37.6 percent from beyond the arc, which ranks third in the ACC.
The Cavaliers feature four players averaging more than 9.9 points per game with Aliyah Huland El (11.3), Dominique Toussaint (11.1), Jocelyn Willoughby (10.3) and J'Kyra Brown (9.9). Felicia Aiyeotan leads the ACC with 2.5 blocks per game and ranks 12th in the league in rebounds (7.3). She also has five double-doubles.
