- It is the second time this season the Cardinals' offense totaled more than 600 yards (676 versus Murray State; 705 versus North Carolina).
- Louisville went 8 for 8 in the red zone, marking the Cardinals' best performance since going 8 for 8 against NC State on Oct. 22, 2016.
- UofL set a school record for margin of total offense, outgaining Murray State by 596 yards. The previous record was 516 yards against Western Kentucky in 1989.
- The 230 combined yards allowed by UofL versus Kent State and Murray State is the lowest two-game total since Bradley/Murray State combined for 195 yards in 1960.
- Murray State averaged only 1.86 yards per play – the lowest since Boston College averaged 1.52 in 2015. It is seventh the lowest yards per play in the last 45 seasons (1973-2017).
- Louisville allowed just five Murray State first downs, the fewest since Boston College recorded four in 2015.
PLAYER NOTES
- Lamar Jackson played two quarters and went 18 of 26 through the air for 249 yards and three touchdowns. He gained 100 yards on seven rushes, including a two-yard touchdown run.
- Jackson broke the UofL record for points responsibility, accounting for his 554th to pass the mark previously held by Chris Redman (536, 1996-99).
- Jackson moved into second on the school's career rushing yards, with 2,968. He passed Nathan Poole (2,958, 1975-78) for second and only trails Walter Peacock, who registered 3,204 from 1972-75.
- Jackson set the Louisville record for most 100-yard rushing games, gaining 100 or more yards on the ground for the 16th time.
- Jackson totaled 349 yards of total offense, tying him with Teddy Bridgewater for third on the school's career total yards list. Both have 9,987 total yards, putting Jackson 833 yards shy of moving past Brian Brohm (10,819, 2004-07) for second on the school's list.
- Jackson now has 7,019 career passing yards, putting him six yards shy of passing Jay Gruden (7,024, 1985-88) for fifth on the school's list.
- With his two passing scores, Jackson has five-consecutive games with multiple touchdown passes and six in the last seven games.
- It is the first time in his career that he has recorded multiple touchdown passes for five-straight games.
- With his lone rushing touchdown of the game, Jackson now has 37 for his career and needs three more to pass Michael Bush (39, 2003-06) for second on the school's career list.
- Jackson completed passes to 14 different receivers in the victory.
- Dez Fitzpatrick finished the game with four catches for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
- His six receiving TDs this year are one short of UofL record for a freshman held by Arnold Jackson (1997) and Mario Urruita (2005).
- Blanton Creque connected on two field goals – 37 yards and 44 yards – to push his streak to 12 consecutive. He moved into sole possession of eighth on the school's career chart with 23.
- Creque's career field goal percentage of 88.5 remains first all-time in school history, as he is 23 of 26.
- Corey Reed led the receivers with four catches for 94 yards, including a long of 57.
- Jawon Pass went 14 for 19 through the air for 115 yards and one touchdown.
- Through two games, Pass has connected on 19 of 27 passes for 190 yards. He boasts an efficiency rating of 141.7.
- Cole Bentley and Jack Duane each made their first appearances in the victory over Murray State.
- Trevon Young, Stacy Thomas, and Chucky Williams each had five tackles to lead the defense.
- Young, Thomas, Russ Yeast, Jonathan Greenard, Ronald Walker, G.G. Robinson, Khane Pass, and Isaac Stewart logged at least one tackle for loss, led by Greenard's two.
- Greenard did not record a sack, breaking his four-game streak.
- Geron Christian earned his 31st-consecutive start.
