Cardinals Fall to No. 8 Georgia Tech

Louisville is downed 7-0
The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 8-ranked Georgia Tech Sunday afternoon in Atlanta.

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point when the No. 3 pair of Nami Otsuka and Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer defeated Tiffany Huber and Olivia Boesing 6-2. The Yellowjackets clinched the point when Paige Hourigan and Kenya Jones paired to beat Aleksandra Mally and Ariana Rodriguez 6-2 at the No. 2 slot. Â The Cardinal pair of Abbie Pahz and Mariana Humberg had the No. 14-ranked pair of Rasheeda McAdoo and Johnnise Renaud tied at 4-4 when play was suspended.

Tech kept the momentum rolling into singles play. Nami Otsuka beat Tiffany Huber 6-3, 6-3 before No. 95-ranked Kenya Jones beat Elle Stokes 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 4 slot. No 91-ranked Paige Hourigan beat Abbie Pahz 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the match. No. 52-ranked Rasheeda McAdoo beat Mariana Humberg 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 position. Olivia Boesing was edged 7-6(7-3), 7-5 by Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer at the No. 6 slot. Alexandra Mally challenged Johnnise Renaud's before falling 7-5, 7-5. Â

The Cardinals return home to host Northern Kentucky on March 17 at 11 a.m. and then host Evansville on March 23 at 4 p.m. all at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
