MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The No. 14 University of Louisville women's basketball team will face Clemson on Thursday in the second round of the ACC Tournament in the HTC Center in Conway, S.C., at 11 a.m. ET.
The March 2 game is being broadcast on Regional Sports Networks (Fox Sports South in Louisville), with Jenn Hildreth (play-by-play) and LaChina Robinson (analyst) calling the action. Louisville's radio broadcast can be heard on WKRD 790 AM, featuring Nick Curran (play-by-play).
The Cardinals (25-6) earned a first-round bye in the event and are seeking an opening victory at the ACC Tournament for the third-consecutive season. No. 5-seed Louisville has reached the semifinals each of the last three seasons (twice at the ACC Tournament and once in The American Tournament).
Clemson (15-15) is coming off a 67-66 first-round victory over Virginia Tech on Wednesday. It was the Tigers' first ACC Tournament win since March 1, 2014, also a win over the Hokies.
Clemson held a 48-33 advantage on the glass, scoring 17 second-chance points on 20 offensive rebounds. The Tigers went 11 of 19 from the line. Virginia Tech, which had just four steals, forced 16 turnovers that translated to 20 points.
Danielle Edwards had a team-high 17 points in the win, and Nelly Perry added 16 points. Kobi Thornton came off the bench and contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, and Jaia Alexander collected 10 rebounds.
Louisville defeated Clemson 60-46 earlier this year. The Cardinals limited the Tigers to 29.4 percent from the floor and forced 16 turnovers.
Myisha Hines-Allen scored a game-high 16 points, while Mariya Moore and Asia Durr each scored 13.
The Cardinals, winners of five straight, are led by all-ACC first team selection Durr. The sophomore is averaging 18.3 points, while tallying 55 assists and 39 steals. She has connected on 95 3-pointers, fifth most in a season in school history.
Fellow first-team member, Hines-Allen is producing 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds. She has 13 double-doubles this year, which ranks second in the league. Moore is third in scoring at 12.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.
The winner advances to play No. 4 seed NC State in the quarterfinal on Friday at 11 a.m.
