No. 14 Women’s Basketball, North Carolina Meet in Play4Kay Matchup on Sunday

The Cardinals and Tar Heels will play at noon on ESPNU in the KFC Yum! Center.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 14 University of Louisville women's basketball team faces North Carolina on Sunday in the annual Play4Kay game in the KFC Yum! Center at noon.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink for the 'Pink Out.' The game serves to honor the late Hall of Fame coach Kay Yow and raise awareness in the fight against women's cancers.
The Feb. 19 game is being broadcast on ESPNU, with Sam Gore (play-by-play) and Sue Bird (analyst) calling the action. Louisville's radio broadcast can be heard on WKRD 790 AM, featuring Nick Curran (play-by-play) and Adrienne Johnson (analyst).
Louisville (22-6, 9-4 ACC) was idle this past week and is coming off a 68-43 decision over Boston College on Feb. 12. The Cardinals are now one win shy of reaching double-digit conference victories for the seventh-consecutive season. Louisville stifled Boston College to 28.1 percent shooting and held a 50-25 edge on the glass.
Kylee Shook led all scorers with 14 points, and Myisha Hines-Allen logged 10 points and 13 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season. Ciera Johnson came off the bench and contributed seven points and eight rebounds.
This season, Asia Durr is pacing the Cardinals in scoring at 17.9 points per game, with a team-leading 85 3-pointers. Mariya Moore is second in scoring at 13.0 per game to go with 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Hines-Allen boasts averages of 12.7 points and 8.9 rebounds.
North Carolina (14-12, 3-10) earned its third conference win in impressive fashion, beating Georgia Tech 89-88 at home behind a 3 with 2.0 seconds left in regulation. The Tar Heels hit 14-of-27 3-pointers, including nine in the first half, and went 19 of 23 from the free throw line. The Yellow Jackets finished with a 40-28 advantage on the glass, scoring 20 points on 18 offensive rebounds.
Paris Kea scored a game-high 27 on 10-of-17 shooting, also collecting nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Jamie Cherry, who hit the ultimate game-winning 3, totaled 26 points. She was 6 of 9 from beyond the arc. Taylor Koenen (17) and Stephanie Watts (11) also tallied double-figure points. Francesca Pan scored 18 for Georgia Tech in the loss.
This season, Watts is pacing the Tar Heels in scoring (16.8) and rebounding (7.9) and also boasts a team-leading 31 blocks and 81 3-pointers. Kea is second in scoring at 16.8 points, hitting 50.5 percent of her shots, and has team highs of 108 assists and 59 steals. Cherry rounds out the top three scorers at 13.5 points, with 96 assists.
Collectively, North Carolina ranks in the top-50 nationally in 3-point field goals made (No. 17), 3-point field goals per game (No. 21), and scoring offense (No. 43).
SERIES HISTORY – North Carolina vs. Louisville
The series between Louisville and North Carolina is tied 3-3, but the Cardinals have won the previous two meetings.
In last year's matchup, Louisville outscored North Carolina 50-28 in the second half in Chapel Hill for a 78-60 win on Feb. 4. The Cardinals went 19 of 22 at the free throw line and scored 18 points off the Tar Heels' 19 turnovers. Louisville received 26 points from its bench.
Mariya Moore tallied a game-high 22 points on 6-of-14 shooting, while Myisha Hines-Allen recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds. Asia Durr came off the bench, contributing 21 points and eight rebounds. Stephanie Watts led North Carolina with 16 points.
