
No. 4 Women's Basketball Welcomes in Middle Tennessee for Alumni Game

The Cardinals and Blue Raiders will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
Louisville extended their second-best start in program history to 10-0 with the win on Thursday. It also marks their first 10-game winning streak since they won 15 straight from Dec. 13 to Feb. 4 in 2015-16. Their best ever start to the season is 15-0 in 2006-07.
Junior Asia Durr paced the Cards in the win with 25 points on 7-of-11 shooting, 2-for-5 from 3-pt range, and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. She also finished with five rebounds and four steals.
She opened the game with a 3-pointer, which marked the fourth time this season that she has scored Louisville's first points and extended her streak to 49 games with a made 3-pointer.
Junior Arica Carter tied her career-high with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 3-of-5 from deep. She has scored in double figures in three straight games with 10 points against UT Martin and 14 points against South Dakota State, marking the longest streak of her career. She has six double figure scoring games in her career.
She leads the team with 27.8 minutes per game and has started every game.
Junior Sam Fuehring tied a career-high with 14 points and had a strong shooting night, as she went 4-for-5 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line.
On the season, UofL is shooting 79.3 percent from the free throw line, which ranks sixth in the country and first in the ACC. They have shot 80 percent or better in seven of their last eight games. In the last eight games, they are shooting 81.8 percent (117-143) from the line. Last year, the Cards shot just 69.2 percent from the stripe.
ABOUT THE BLUE RAIDERS
Middle Tennessee moved to 5-1 with a 69-39 victory over Coppin State on Tuesday. Prior to the win, they lost two straight on the road to Ole Miss, 65-56, and Georgia Tech, 48-45. They opened the season with a 65-54 win at Vanderbilt.
They are led by junior guard Jess Louro, who averages a team-high 12.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals, while knocking down a team-best 20 3-pointers (20-55, .364). Senior forward Rebecca Reuter averages 10.0 points and senior Abbey Sissom averages 9.8 points.
Defensively, the Blue Raiders are allowing just 50.7 points per game, which ranks fifth in the country. They are limiting opponents to 34 percent shooting, which ranks 24th, and 24 percent shooting from 3-pt range, which ranks 25th.
Louisville is 5-1 all-time against Middle Tennessee, with their lone loss a 94-84 defeat at Freedom Hall on Dec. 9, 2009. Last year, they won 91-72 at MTSU. In their lone matchup at the KFC Yum! Center, the Cards downed the Blue Raiders, 74-49, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on March 24, 2013.
