Louisville Football Countdown to Kickoff

The Cardinals and Cavaliers take the field for a Saturday matchup at 3:30 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville football returns to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium for its final two-regular season home games, beginning with a Saturday league tilt against Virginia at 3:30 p.m.
The teams are meeting for the sixth time in series history, and Louisville owns a 3-2 advantage. The series dates back to 1988 and opened with a 30-20 Cardinals victory at home.
The Cardinals and Cavaliers have played three times since Louisville joined the ACC in 2014, with Louisville holding a 2-1 advantage. The Cardinals won each of the past two meetings, including last year's 32-25 victory in Charlottesville.
ESPNU (Mike Corey, Rene Ingoglia) is broadcasting the game, while Louisville Sports Properties radio coverage on WKRD 790 AM begins at 2 p.m., featuring Paul Rogers, Alex Kupper, and Jody Demling.

5 – Louisville's offense has totaled 62 plays of 20 or more yards from scrimmage this season, good enough for FIFTH nationally.
4 – Jaylen Smith was one of FOUR Louisville receivers that caught at least five passes against Wake Forest, leading the way with six receptions for 73 yards.
3 – With his 330-yard passing performance against Wake Forest, Lamar Jackson became the THIRD player in NCAA history to amass 8,000 yards passing and 3,500 rushing.
2 – Virginia is making only its SECOND appearance in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in the five-game series history. The Cavaliers fell 38-31 at Louisville in 2015.
1 – Louisville is ONE victory shy of becoming bowl eligible for the eighth-consecutive season.
