Cards will send six players to ITA Men's All-American Championships
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's men's tennis team will send players to compete in the 2016 Saint Francis All-American Championship. The tournament will be held Oct. 1-10 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Sophomore Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff (Capbreton, France), sophomore George Hedley (Berkshire, England), redshirt-junior Santiago Salazar (Medellin, Colombia), junior Ciro Lampasas (Houston, Texas), junior Nicolas Rouanet (Gujan Mestres, France), and freshman Parker Wynn (North Richland Hills, Texas) will open the tournament in the pre-qualifying singles draw.
Â
"Chris, George, Nicolas and Parker are back on the road after last week's Southern Intercollegiate Championships are back on the road again to the All-American Championships in Tulsa," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "Ciro and Santiago will be joining them in this tournament. This is Santi's first action of the fall after a successful summer of tournaments so I am excited to see what he will do. As far as number of players, it is the biggest tournament of the year. It also will have more nationally-ranked singles players and doubles teams in it than any tournament of the season."
Â
Pre-qualifying matches are slated to begin on Saturday, Oct. 1, with qualifying matches starting on Oct. 3, and main draw contests getting underway on Oct. 6. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 10.
