- This is the highest ranked win in school history, surpassing the victory over third-ranked West Virginia in 2006.

- With the point total, the Cardinals set a school record for tallying at least 60 points in three-consecutive games.
- Louisville's 43-point margin of victory is the largest over a ranked opponent in program history, beating the 27-point margin from the 1991 Fiesta Bowl – a 34-7 win – over No. 25 Alabama.
- It is tied for the third-largest loss ever by an Associated Press top-2 team.
- Louisville accumulated 530 yards of offense against Florida State and now has achieved at least 250 or more in five-consecutive games.

- Lamar Jackson tied the school record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a game with four.
- He is only the second player in school history to score four touchdowns in consecutive games (Fred Koster, 1926, vs. Ogden, Rose Poly).
- Jackson is tied for 10th on the career charts for rushing touchdowns, bumping his total to 21 through just 15 games played.
- Jackson's has the second-most rushing scores in a season by a quarterback with 10, only trailing the school record of 11 he set last year in 12 games played.
- Jaire Alexander returned a punt in the third quarter 69 yards for a touchdown. It's the first time a Louisville player achieved the feat since Doug Beaumont went 74 yards on a traditional return (no block involved) in 2010 against Connecticut. Later that quarter, he registered a 61-yard punt return.
- Brandon Radcliff had another stellar game, following his performance against Syracuse. The senior had 14 carries for 118 yards – his seventh 100-yard rushing game – and one score, an average of 8.4 yards per carry. He has 274 yards on 24 carries, an 11.4-yard average.
- He moved into ninth on the career charts for rushing touchdowns with 22.
- Radcliff opened the game with a 30-yard rush and tacked on another 20-yard run, giving him six rushes this year of at least 20 yards.
- James Quick finished the game as the Cardinals' leading receiver with 122 yards on seven catches, marking his fifth career 100-yard receiving game. He is the 12th player in program history to have at least five 100-yard receiving games.
- Chucky Williams recorded his fourth career interception in the fourth quarter, his first of the 2016 campaign.
- James Hearns was one of five players to register a sack in the victory, boosting his season total to 3.5.z
