
Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Minnesota Invitational

Lauren Hartlage and Delaney Shah tied for 13th each with a 7-over-par 223.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Hartlage shot a 7-over-par 223 at the Minnesota Invitational and helped the University of Louisville women's golf team to a seventh-place finish on Tuesday in Minneapolis, Minn.
The freshman carded a 6-over-par 78 in the final round, earning a tie for 13th, secured her second top-20 finish in as many collegiate events. The Elizabethtown, Ky., native struggled on the front nine, but rebounded with an even-par 37 after the turn that included a birdie on a par-4, 339-yard hole.
Collectively, the Cardinals entered the day tied for second, but similar to the entire field hit a bump on the final day of action. Louisville shot a 20-over-par 308 in the last round for a three-day score of 35-over-par 899.
Delaney Shah, who played as an individual, matched Hartlage with a 7-over-par 223 to tie for 13th. The freshman, who logged 38 pars over the two-day event, earned the highest finish of any player in the field competing as an individual.
Molly Skapik also finished in the top 20, after totaling the Cardinals' best round score at 1-over-par 73. The junior, who carded an 8-over-par 224 tied for 17th.
Senior Louise Oxner, who tied for 27th, and sophomore Jacqueline Twitty, who tied for 33rd, rounded out the Cardinals' scorers.
Louisville is idle for more than two weeks and returns to action at the Cougar Classic in Hanahan, S.C. The Cardinals will compete at the Yeaman's Hall Club from Oct. 2-4.
