Cards ranked four in ACC Preseason Poll while the women were picked 13th
GREENSBORO, N.C. – After finishing seventh at the NCAA Championship last year, the Cardinal men were picked to finish fourth in the ACC preseason poll. The Louisville women were picked to finish 13th in the preseason poll.
Reigning NCAA champion Syracuse was picked to claim its fourth straight Atlantic Coast Conference men's cross country title, and the NC State women were selected as 2016 conference favorites in a vote of the league's head coaches.
The ACC is well-represented in the USTFCCCA coaches' preseason polls released Tuesday, with four men's teams ranked among the top 30 and four also women's teams represented.
Syracuse leads conference teams in the men's poll with a No. 1 national ranking. Virginia is ranked 15th, followed by Louisville at No. 24 and NC State at No. 30. Florida State received votes.
NC State's women earned a No. 5 preseason ranking, while Notre Dame is 14th, Syracuse 15th and Virginia 16th.
