Emmonnie Henderson earns honorable mention All-America honors in the discus
Eugene, Ore. – The University of Louisville track and field's Emmonnie Henderson earned honorable mention All-America honors in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
"Today was a disappointment to say the least," said head coach Dale Cowper. "Emmonnie is simply better than her performances from the week represent. We'll regroup and build a different set of results next time."
Henderson finished 22nd in the discus with a throw of 49.66m (162-11), earning honorable mention All-American honors. The junior earned second team All-American honors on Thursday night in the shot put.
Henderson finished second in the discus at the ACC Championships to earn All-ACC honors in the event. The sophomore has won the discus three two and finished in the top 10 five times this season. She was named the ACC Women's Field MVP after winning the shot put and a runner-up finish in the discus at the ACC Championships.
