Williams and Henderson Advance to the NCAA Championships

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Emmonnie Henderson and Ben Williams both qualified for the NCAA Championships on the final day of competition at the NCAA East Preliminaries on Saturday. Henderson advanced in the shot put while Williams advanced in the triple jump.
"Ben and Emmonnie both did a great job with today's competition and our 4x400m relay team was able to end the competition with a highlight," said head coach Dale Cowper. "It was great to see Antoine (Keys) and Jeron (Brown) end their careers as part of another record setting relay along with Martice (Moore) and Teague (Peck)."
Williams started off the day in the triple jump. He finished sixth with a mark of 16.16m (53-¼) and advanced to the NCAA Championships for the second straight year in the event.
Henderson advanced to the NCAA Championships in the shot put for the second straight year. She finished seventh in the event with a mark of 16.49m (54-1¼). Henderson will compete in both the discus and the shot put at the championships in Eugene.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Jeron Brown, Antoine Keys, Teague Peck and Martice Moore finished the night with a new school record. The finished 14th in the event with a time of 3:07.87. They broke their previous record of 3:08.74 set earlier this season at the Florida Relays.
In the men's high jump, Damar Robinson and Javen Reeves both cleared 2.08m (6-9¾). Robinson finished 27th and Reeves finished 29th. Isaac Bowling finished 27th in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.38m (57-¼).
Henderson, Williams, and Edwin Kibichiy will represent the Cardinals at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. June 8-10.
